I took my new MinnKota Traxxis 45 out this morning for its maiden voyage. It's a good thing we didn't encounter any icebergs because there was NO REVERSE! It's marked on the handle/dial with three reverse speeds, but turning the handle/dial to any of them results in nothing, nada, zip and/or zilch.

Forward works fine.

I wanted to try to troubleshoot it by reversing the battery connections but chickened out when I got images of Customer Service claiming I've voided the warranty.

Am I missing something simple? (I've been known to do that :D)

Other than that it was a pretty uneventful learning experience. Lessons learned: 1) Stay away from lilypad beds 2) Even a slight breeze can push the bow off course, requiring you to compensate while steering 3) Stay away from lilypad beds 4) Tight turns cause crossed lines, and 5) Stay away from lilypad beds.
