Had my 997 on the water--donut still there at about .6 and below. However, I noticed (perhaps others have as well) that I don't lose POSITION" while going slow. This movement of the actual "Donut" icon has always occured in my 1197 (from the day I bought it)....

The important thing to note here is that the actual visual movement of the "Donut" icon on the screen only happens about every 4 or 5 seconds during the operation of the chart view...

These HB units are advertised as updating GPS information 4 times PER second....

Using these 2 figures above would lend one to calculate that the HB unit is only moving the visual "Donut" icon on the screen every 16th GPS data update...

Even at the speed of 0.2mph...I can be WAY off my brushpile in 4 or 5 seconds while I'm waiting for that "Donut" to update on my screen.....

And because my unit will not tell me which way I actually moved(no directional icon)....I have to wait those 4 or 5 seconds (for my screen to refresh) to even know which way I need to move to make a TM adjustment to get back on my brushpile....

I still have faith HB will eventually change this.....to user selectable which would make everyone happy...

Slow trollers may be a very small group...but HB listens....albeit very quietly...
