Thread: MinnKota Maxxium Question

I have a minnkota maxxium 82lbs thrust on my pro craft boat. It is getting slack in the mounting brackett when you step on the button. I'm sure this is a common problem when they get some age on them. Just wondering if anyone has any do it yourself fix tips to take out the slack or do i need to call MinnKota?

I took some thin hard rubber strips about 1/16 inch thick and 1/2 inch wide and glued them in the bottom of the bracket channel where the chrome spring loaded catches snap into when the TM is deployed....it helped some...

If your pivot axle bushings are getting worn...one can probably get them from HB or McMaster Carr.....
