All this talk about extra batteries and after pulling two batteries in parallel yesterday for over 10 hours in light winds at 1.5-1.7 mph got me to thinking two more batteries in parallel sitting on ready would be a good idea. If I had to deal with much wind, my troll time would have been cut way back. You can't always troll with the wind. I know I am out of room in the back of the boat. I have a V Minn Kota Power Drive V2 55 lbs thrust. I almost killed the two batteries in parallel yesterday. I have two rod lockers up front that don't get used for anything other than junk stuff in them that I won't use but once or twice a year. They are big enough I know I can fit two more 29 series side by side in a tray to secure them. The weight would help a little to since my boat is really light and would help level off the boat while on plane when I am by myself.

My question is what would be the best way to make the connection to the trolling motor? I don't have much access to run a lot of wire all over the boat. I still can't figure out how the boat company got everything wired they way they did unless it was done before the top was put on. Maybe I can get some pics posted so you can see the set up. Thanks for any tips or warnings. Maybe some one has already done this?
