too many volts i would say. whatever you hook your fish finder to you need it fused with i think a 2 amp fuse.

Some will tolerate 18V. Most Lowrance units are rated to 18V, but not above. The Makita batteries are typically 2.6-3.0AH, meaning they'd only run one in typical use for 3 hours, although that's just a guess given the mismatched voltage. A lawnmower or motorcycle battery is a better choice.
I use a cabelas little 8amp battery,,,4"X6"X2.5",,,runs my lowrance 520 graph and gps all day ice fishing.
