    What is the difference between the 400hz and the 855hz frequencies and what applications would you use each in.This is on the Lowrance mark 5 di unit.

    Lower frequencies travel further in water, so you tend to use the 455kHz out at long distances and the 800kHz in closer. I'd probably switch at 120ft or so.
