Good news i now have 4.0 on my HDS 5 and also loaded it on a buddies HDS unit this morning. Now i just need to do my 7 and my 8 that are on the boat.

I tried it on another computer (Vista) and it would not load to SD (but said it was loading sd). My original download was via Windows 7 with no problems. I dunno.

I downloaded on vista and you have to type in sd/mmc in the file line or it wont take, took me 3 time to figure out just putting it on the computer would not work, last download I typen in sd/mmc in file location and wala worked. installed on 7 and 8 and all is good.

Just got mine loaded up last night. No problems, but I haven't had time to play with the new stuff yet.

The download went flawless on my card but I was trying to install on the hds 8 first and I was never seeing anything happening. Finally after 3 times, I decided to try it on my hds 7 and it downloaded right to that unit. Hds 8 still hasnt got the download. Came here looking for help. If it works on my 7, I would think it should work on my 8 without changing to another card. Frustrated but happy about 3 screens on my 7. Huge improvement there. :)

Did everything I can think of and retried everything over and over following the instructions to the letter. I had to download the 3.5 version before (Was back when purchased a year ago) and it took to my hds8 as it was suppose to. There seems to be some reason my unit wont take the new download and I would appreciate the fix if anybody knows what it would be. Done working on it for today as it has taken up 4 hours or so with nothing to show for it.

Does it make any diff if u put card in then start hds or do u start hds then insert download card-- which slot do u use?

you need to put the card in, then turn the unit on.

after i did the update, my screen started freezing upon start up. where it says "accept" it would not take enter and move on---getting better, but a lot of turning it off and on.
