Wondering if I should attempt to install my new down imaging or take it to a marine mechanic. When I take my current transducer off what should I fill the holes in with. I have an aluminum boat.
If anyone has any advice on installation it would be greatly appreciated.

The existing holes might actually line up with the new transducer mount. I have an aluminum boat. If it were me, I'd use a couple of stainless small bolts, washers, nylon locknuts and silicone. JB weld scares me as it will not flex and can crack out.
As far as installation of your new transducer, use the same thing following the manufacturers placement of the bracket. You can do it!
Reaper, Where Fish come to Fry
Do what Crappie Reaper says above. Bolts, nylon washers and lock nuts with silicone.
:D Local guy, Great deals! www.thecrappiehotspot.com Thumbs Up
I'm going to try and do the same thing but i have a fiberglass nitro,
any sugestions regarding the fiberglass. I'm hoping the holes line
up all teh way around but i'm usually not that lucky.
Thanks

You might think about installing one of these...
Transducer Mounting Plate
You may have to move the new xducer several times to get the optimum placement...

Left my mount on the boat .....moved my transducer to the troll motor up front since I spider rig ....but silicon screws and flat washers works for me...I got a riveted boat ....
