    Question transducer ?

Have a Garmin 431 on console with the transom mount on the right of the motor, going to buy an Hb 898c si to put with it, can I mount the transducer next to the other one or should I go to the other side of the motor ? I like the GPS on the Garmin so thats why I want to keep It too, will I get alot of cross talk like this ? Just trying to get the ducks in a row before the money , LOL THANKS , Oh I also have a 565 up front on the TM, hope to up that one later on , Its Just money they make it everyday !!!!!LOL:D

Unless you can mount the 898 transducer lower on the transom than the Garmin transducer it will block the Si sonar to that side. So I would look at either mounting it on the opposite side of the motor, where the Garmin transducer will block less of the Si sonar, or remove the Garmin transducer since you are only going to use the GPS.

I’m guessing HARLEYBOY as I don’t know the sonar specs on the Garmin, but I would say that you would get some level of sonar cross-talk. That is based on the Garmin unit using the same 200kHz frequency as we use. If it does show up on your 898c Si unit you can try and combat this by turning On and up the Noise Filter menu.
