Yes the 798ci HD Si unit will have the Down Imaging software in it and can show all three types of sonar at the same time.
The 898 would be a little easier to read though due to its larger display.

greg, i just bought and installed the 898 c si on my bought. i have read the forums, watch some videos ordered the manual, and registered the unit.
i still am wondering for the di part of the finder what i should set my beam on, if i am on sidescan, i understand that 200/85 is the best is that correct?
i still am trying to understand "quad beam" is that is a setting or what they call the transducer?
the high definition beam etc etc. could you please explain those different beam options and what they relate to in terms of fishing. i would appreciate it. i live on the harris chain of lakes in fl where the bassmasters tournament is going on this weekend./ i see several of the humminbird going by my boat dock. are you in town by anychance--Tavares, fl that is?

I'm a little confused here crappiegirl...

According to this ....898c SI Combo : : Humminbird Side Imaging GPS Combo ....your unit does not have the Quad Beam.....

But instead your unit has the Dual Beam PLUS....and also has SI and DI..

The 200 and the 83 are for the 2d sonar...
    Sonar

    DualBeam PLUS

    • 200 kHz / 20° @ -10db
    • 83 kHz / 60° @ -10db
    • Depth: 1500 ft
The 455 and the 800 are for SI/DI...

    Side Imaging & Down Imaging

    • 455 kHz / (2) 86° @ -10db
    • 800 kHz / (2) 55° @ -10db
    • Depth: 150 ft

you defiantly will get a better di with the hummingbird 500 series di units or the788 di unit because of the dedicated di element.that being said, i still beleive that as long as you can afford it,the si units are far better for you.they have di to good luck.please ask if you have more questions
