Default Another option for elevating a FF for better viewing

I just came across this website while searching for an answer to an anticipated problem. I don't know if any of you can use one, but there is another option here. While they are a little pricey, what isn't, they do allow a lot of horizontal movement also. The product is Kayula Toughbar, comes in different lengths to 27.5", and extends your existing RAM B size system. Take a look at it, and see what you think. I am thinking if the bar is mostly vertical it would work (HB 788ci), but if the bar was in a more horizontal position a guy might have problems in rougher water or when running. I like the concept though.

I'd be worried about that setup when running down the lake at 60MPH

My rig only goes 40, but it trailers fine at 65. It works fine for me, your results may vary though.

mduncan, gave the wrong name, it's actually Kayalu Toughbar. ToughbarŽ XL Series | Our extra long-length extension rod and arm for RAM Mounts components, mounts and assemblies.

justin, do you leave you ff's mounted at all times like you show in the pic, or do you lay them over in the boat during road travel? I can't tell what size ball it is for sure in the picture either, B?

Yes I leave it upright during travel, if I had to travel in rough water most likely they would get laid on the floor. The balls are 1.5", when I built this it was for one unit, it really needs to be the 2.25 for two units. The adjustability is great though.

You built that one yourself? How did you do it? The bars on the website are only available with the c ball on one end, radpole model.

Its 3/4" aluminum conduit with a 1/2" thick aluminum slug welded in the ends, drilled and tapped to 3/8 18. The balls on the end have a 3/8 18 stud on them so they screw in the tube. If I decide to keep both units up front I'll change to the D size, but the D size stuff is crazy expensive compaerd to the C stuff.
