    Default trolling battery question

Which is better two 12 V parallel or hook them 24 volts. Which will give the longer run time question is to buy 12 or 24 volt trolling motor. Already got the batteries, I a wanting I-pilot really bad.

    Thanks

It's about the same. There are probably slight efficiency advantages to the 24V motor since the internal wiring can be smaller.

24V motors can have more thrust than 12V motors. 12V motors max out around 55lbs thrust.

Minnkota 24V motors all have the built in maximizer which also helps prolong battery life. I don't think all the 12V do.

I went from 12 to 24 volt trolling motor and it was worth every penny.
