Default ok You guys did it. I am going bigger.

I was planning on buying a HB 798 HD SI COMBO, also a 596 DI for the bow. Well you guys said go big, so now I am looking into the 898 series and can only afford the one. But I am think I am going mount it on the consloe so that I can swivel it around and read it from the front.

So I have a question. Can a person hook up two Tansducers? One form the Transom and one from the trolling motor. If you see what I getting at I would like to have the DI on the bow when up fishing and the SI when moving at the consloe.

If I can do this do I have to buy any thing other the second TD and which TD do you suggest?

    Thanks
    Clint

Yes you can Clint and you would need a TS2-W Transducer Switch and a second HDSi transducer: XTM-9-HDSi-180-T. If you fish in and around trees, stumps and rocks that could damage the transducer I would add one of the aftermarket mounts that also protect the transducer, like from Transducer Shield & Saver, RaptorCap or Transducer Armour.

Keep some bengay on the boat, your neck will not thank you. But it'll get you by till you can get a second unit.

You could also just move the unit from console to bow and plug in the cables.

    Cool

Look on the personal classified site. I think Blue balls has the stuff to create a 2nd station for #250. I think all you would need is another mount & maybe a ram mount. He has the power cord and tranducer and wiring harness holder.

You don't really need an SI transducer on the front You could just go with a dual beam for alot cheaper. I don't think the DI would work though.

You need to have that unit infront of ya.

If you did it this way when you got the $ all you would have to buy is the control Head.

If the 898 has a mount like a 997-8, that's going to be a pain.

Thanks guys I did see where someone else was talking about moving the head. I was looking into making a second station and adding it up. Well Its alomst half of the 596 DI
I was going to use anyway. So I am thinking that I might just end up with the second unit and have to do without on some other stuff.

I am getting pretty excited, I am updateing all the electronics and the trolling motor. I am going to have over 3 grand in it and thats alot for me. But I think I am going to end up with 898 on the console and the 596 on the bow and the 80 pound terrova with the I pilot. This spring I wont know what to do, I will be playing more than fishing I am afraid.

thanks for the suggestions. I am also open for more suggestions if you have them lets here them.

    Thanks
    Clint
