Hey guys another question. I was reading on another site and they were talking about transducer not coming with the new units. Is that correct or are they crazy?

    thanks

We do sell some units as a “CHO” version along with the standard version. The CHO version is the complete unit minus the transducer.

CHO means color head only you still need to shell out another $250 for HD transducer. Yes just a come on price that probably gonna cost more in long---mabe I am crazy but when I buy new car I expect to see new tires on it..........

Thanks Greg, and jaxsprat, and everyone else who has replied. Just when I thought I had somethings figured out, I get more confussed the more I research. Now I read something about Quad beam and such.

Plus the fact the a second TD alone is just about half of the price of the 596 DI that I was looking at. So I think I am back to 898 and 596. Man this is confussing, but thanks to you guys its getting better. Here I thought it would just be plug and play. Boy was I thinking wrong.

    Thanks
    Clint

This will save you about $100.00 Might check their other prices on units, best prices I've found.

Thanks Allan, Looks like the deal to have.

Ok so I think I have something figured out. It looks like both units the 596HD DI and 898c Si Combo each come with Transducers, which looks like they are for the Transom. So the one for the 898 will go on the transom but for the 596 if I want to mount in on the Trolling motor I would need a differnt TD or will I have to just buy a special mount? From what I gather I will need a differnt TD like the one Allan suggested.

Thanks again guys, you have been a great help.

At the worst you would have to buy a bracket for the TM mounted 596 ducer. Wont need anymore transducers.
