There's a Fish Eagle ducer on my troller attached to a GPS unit that shows direction of travel. Something about that HB screen at slow trolling speeds makes me hungry....fer donuts

Just my thinking...don't you think there is enough people with HB's that have concerns about the donut thing that it would make them fix it? Maybe its something that a "software update" won't fix. Can you imagine the mayhem if it required a hardware fix and you would have to send in your unit. This thing has been going on for what...2 years??? You think maybe its something that they can't fix? Kinda of bummer for you guys that have it.

    Hope they find a solution...quick!
Sacred Heart of Mary, pray for us now, and at the hour of our death. AMEN
For those who believe, no explanation is necessary....for those who don't, no explanation is possible
For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and the whole world

I think it's important to look at a simple comparison when we are talking about "how long does it take"...

Let's take a look back (not so long ago) at the "Shallow water eratic depth reading problem"...

This problem showed up in the HB units at about software version number 4.750.....

IMMEDIATLY...the boards lit up with complaints and issues.....HB fixed the problem in the very next software update....Why...??

Because ALL fishermen were complaining about it...crappie fishermen. walleye fishermen...bass fishermen.. perch fishermen....etc...

The "Donut" is an issue from a very small group of fishermen that don't have a very loud voice.....crappie fishermen...

This is why I started "Project HB Donut"....to get everyone involved that had an issue with the HB "Donut"...even if it was just affecting their decision on what brand to buy....

HB is just like any other big corporation...they have to weigh the cost of the software fix with the amount of complaints that they see...to see if it's worth HB's investment in the fix....

As long as people keep coming forward...we will finally get loud enough that HB will see that the "Donut" is costing them money in lost sales in the long run....

    Patience and persistance...

I wish greg had some snippet from "the HB powers that be" other than they are looking at it...

I understand indeed. Ima old engineer, was promoted to "staff". I didn't like lying so I asked for a demotion back to my desk. I was pretty good circuit designer in my other life.
