I'm sure HB is listening...and watching..

How long they will wait and lose sales..who knows....

I think the youtube video pretty well stopped all the arguing about the "Donut" being an issue or not...

I'm sure HB is watching that too..

I seriously hope HB addresses the "Donut" before we catch up to maj's crankbait 101 thread....

HB owners (and potential HB owners) just want our 'Birds to be as good as the competition....

on the video , I would like to see a 90 deg turn and time each units response. That would be very interesting to me.

Here's my take whether some folks think I should have a say or not.
The H/B units are working as they were designed to as this statement from H/B attests.

Thank you for contacting Humminbird. We appreciate your interest in our products. This is currently the design of the unit. You will have to be traveling at least 1to 2 miles an hour to get the boat icon. I do not
foresee any modification, however I have forwarded your concern for evaluation.
If we can assist you further on this subject or any other Humminbird related questions please feel free email us again or contact our Customer Resource Center at 1-800-633-1468 to speak with a Customer
Service Representative. Our hours are Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    Good Boating and Fishing!

Another quote from Canepole, who's opinion I think most folks, including myself value and appreciate.

So we have the statement H/B's unit is working as designed, and CanePole's statement if it was an easy fix it would have been done.

I'd like to see this issue fixed for all individuals concerned, but all that is needed, is to read the H/B donut thread and contact them if you feel the it's something you want corrected. For folks to continue to post over and over again about "fix this issue, have they fixed it yet, I'll selling a ton of X units because of the issue" is getting redundant. Forty some pages worth! But I can't throw my 2 cents in?

Shellback, your input is welcomed. All are welcome. All indeed.

I would hope that most readers can tell who the HB bashers are.

I don't think its a matter of thinking its junk. You pay a lot of money for something and you just want it to work properly. There is nothing wrong with that.

That's a very good point Bill..and I'll say it once again...

I love my 1197...and I would still buy it again....

The issue with the HB "Donut" would never had even been thought of ..."IF" ...the competition's units didn't already operate at speeds down to 0.1mph....(and no one even asked them to)...

It is this fact that drives me to want my 'Bird be just as good as the other guys....

They can show the directional tracking icon down to 0.1mph..then our 'Birds should...

I don't know how more simply I can state it.....we want the competition's directional tracking icon on our 'Birds...

The competition does it at no extra charge..then HB should be able to offer the same...
