All anyone has to do is look at Chaunc post. It says it all.
I don't seem to be able to find it, can someone point it out to me?

I think the fact that no one has come out saying that "it can't be done" speaks volumes. I would really like to hear some response from the HB reps who we all know are watching this thread. I think the general point of this thread was never to bash HB, most of the people posting here are current HB owners and the majority of us (those who haven't switched brands yet) would really prefer to just have this one item corrected so that we can be fully satisfied HB customers.
It's all over but the fryin'......

I knew that....Doh
I see the change in Customer Service answers as promising. The first responses seemed like canned answers. Now it seems to be, yes, we hear you and we are passing this along.
Remember, that this change will not happen overnight. Right now, I'm guessing the ethernet and other 2011 changes are their most pressing business.
If they operate like most businesses, this will have to reviewed, evaluated and tested before any of us see results.
I'm not an expert on GPS programming, but if its like most software, it is viewed as Intellectual Property and therefore, I would not expect any advisories from HB on why it may or may not take so long for this change to take place.

here is the question that was asked on walleyecentral.
"That would be good. Technology changes. If a person continues a a slow enough speed for a long enough time it can be measured pretty accurately. Do some of the other units have magnetic compasses built it?
Has Hummingbird ever stated whose GPS chipset they use? That could make a huge difference. "
unlike what an individual said previously they are interested in this on the walleye forum, so I understand cane pole doesnt want to come over there but if someone else in the know can it would be appreciated.
RTTG, any idea of when you are going to do the side by side video?
