I've been in support all along, but also made some poor choices in posts I suppose. But I've stayed in support. And Tom should probably be idolized for his smarts!

Never heard of that before. Thanks man.

My purpose commenting on this thread was to make some fishermen realize that although there is a small flaw in the GPS, by no means is H/B an inferior product. I have used many other brands, and they all have their issues. I think folks could possibly make a grave mistake, excluding H/B equipment from the their WTB list. I'll just continue to rely on CanePoles "yellow GPS" to be spot on. I wanna be looking at the water anyhow, rather than my GPS screen. Good Luck!
Best gps I ever owned. No batteries!!!!!!!!!

Ha, you're too modest Tom, I idolize you a little bit every time I hit the toggle switch b/w foot pedal and iPilot on my V2!

I agree wholeheartedly with what you said before, I don't see a downside to having the Donut fixed for anyone, let alone HB who will make a little extra jingle off of me the day I know it's gone. I am surprised that they have let this go for so long. I think a lot of people see us as whiners, etc. for making a big push about it and having a few threads going on out there but nothing else has worked for 4 years.
It's all over but the fryin'......

Really Tom, too modest. You've already corrected the Ipilot shortcoming, and I'm sure if there was a way for you to fix the donut yourself, it would have been done.

Justin, that was pretty funny, but do you believe HB dumped him for that?

And did have you heard back from HB yet?

I read the donut report on Walleyecentral. Sensible responses. I added the LG4000 to my unit to solve loss of signal on the West bank of the lake I fish. Most often lost signal when trolling northwest. This is called the fatbutt signal block syndrome. Didn't want to spend the money, but I am happy with the results. I let Low know about it too.

Seems like one of the Walleye guys got the same results I did with the LCG4000 antenna hooked into the HDS8. It uses the SiRf star III 16 parallel channel receiver. I don't know the revision number of the receiver.

I went out yesterday fishing and got a fresh batch of donut. Hope the HB folks fix it soon.

Grease or CP (or really anyone that has the capability)...

"Project HB Donut" is anxiously awaiting the visual proof of the issue at hand....(the side by side comparison video)...

People being able to actually see the evidence might be encouraged to post their real life story of how the "Donut" affects them....

This visual comparison could open a completely new realm of discussion in realizing the 2nd goal of "Project HB Donut"...

    1. Identify the facts relating to the causes/effects of the HB "Donut"...
    2. Open a venue of discussion for people that may be hindered by the "Donut" in their preferred tactics and techniques of using the HB chartplotter product....or how that "Donut" affected their decision in their purchase of a sonar/chartplotter product...

    Sometimes visual evidence speaks volumns...

It will be sometime before I can do this comparison. My wife will be having a reverse shoulder replacement Thursday. I will be off the lake for a while. However, someone can bring me some fresh donuts at the Memphis hospital.

Don't forget folks. The Air Force is placing new satellites in orbit that will be more accurate than the satellites presently in orbit. Who knows, we might be locking onto new satellites now.

I talked about this several years ago. Frank Lawhead probably remembers. We both had doubts that we would live to see it. ha
