Plus they always seem to be working on downloadable upgrades to improve the performance. If they aren't working on the donut, maybe they feel their engineering is better spent in other ways. I think they are doing a pretty good job for recreational fishermen. Just to add to the post, I use a marker bouy if I want to stay on a spot. Much easier looking at it than looking at an electronics screen. Paint them a dark color and nobody sees them if you are afraid of someone grbbing your spot.
I'm glad you posted that, I've been saying the same thing for a long time and I believe HB made a quantam leap in Sonar when they brought SI to the world, not to mention the dream come true idea of integrating GPS right into that SI screen so we can drop waypoints on what we see, truly amazing.
What else is amazing? HB is highly touted as a CS company yet people have been diligently working on getting this donut addressed since 2007 with no results yet here in 2011. It's also amazing that one more guy out there seems fine with supplementing his premium electronics with other expensive electronics and a marker buoy.
HB, please take note, almost no one in these threads is really pushing Lowrance; I think what almost everyone here wants is for you to correct this one major flaw so we can be fully satisfied HB customers, you still have most of us....
It's all over but the fryin'......
