I really didn't take Dougs post as condescending, it came across to me as another persons view on the donut, albeit a third persons view. There is no doubt a problem, but as someone already posted, "one mans trash is another mans treasure".

Now wait a minute here. Now that we have seen proof from another pro and pictures of them, it's time for us to consider that as Non-pro, non-sponsored crappie fisherman we just aren't wise enough to understand the donut. Maybe it is a tool for our use. The donut has been very important for him on the crappie masters trail. This says a volume.
I hadn't considered that if you manage to land the waypoint inside of the donut, you are on your spot. Consider it a ring toss scenario. And as much as I'd like to see this fixed, now crappie pros, and seminar speakers and embracing the donut as an important tool. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Read through it again please. He consulted Charlie as an "expert" and you should go to his seminar, so you can see how he uses it. The donut won him the points race?
Maybe I read it all wrong, but you've got all these Non-experts over here on Crappie.com, but I seriously believe that the one "expert" opinion is all Doug needs. I don't know if the buntings are also sponsored by HB, but to me it really seems like if you are, your ability the speak freely is gone. IMHO.
Well, the expert was stated most of us "rush" and our complaint is slow trolling. Maybe a misguided soul then. I don't believe .2-.4 mph is rushing things.

This is NOT Humminbird's statement but a conversation with someone I personally knows that has been very successful Spider Rigging and One Poling for Crappie. I wanted his opinion on what was happening and he opened my mind to a different way that he uses Humminbird GPS.
I have personally forward your request and concern to Humminbird and I know TMike and Greg has too. It's been heard and will be reviewed. That's all I can do but thought some might like to learn how someone else takes advantage and uses the information to be successful. I'm going to give a try for Bass Fishing!

Chaunc, have you ever been able to drive up on a brush pile or stay on a brush pile using the "donut" as suggested? I gave up on it.

One important point I'd like to make here, whether you agree w/ Dougs post about the Buntings use of the donut or any of that....We have made progress. At some point we started talking about the donut as something that everyone accepts as a "real thing", not just some figment of us crappie fishermen's imagination.
It's like they say in rehab, you gotta admit you have a problem before you can cure it. We are finally at the point where everyone across the board is accepting that the donut is real - whether it bothers you or not, it does exist. Now let's get together on getting it fixed!!
It's all over but the fryin'......
