Ol Moose1am is posting on the subject. He is now a GPS expert. Wow.

Oh, by the way, I did buy a LOWRANCE. And I will keep complaining until my HB is fixed. Been beating this horse 3 years now. It is only a dead horse if we let it go. Now I remember why I quit bass fishing.

The purpose of this campaign is to spread the word, and not cave in to the "we passed it on" nonsense or be bullied by a bunch O heads that drive big boats and have little heads.

I went to that link that MD posted and read the dead horse thing and all that other stuff. Why dont HB warn you in some way like when you are buying there gps units and have it written somewhere for the consumer to see like our units will not show an arrow below 1 mph. I think that should be a standard because there are consumers out there just getting there first gps and if they know about stuff like this they might go ahead and opt not to buy HB. They may just go with Garmin or Lowrance. If I go to Basspro and walk in and say this is my first gps do you think that they would tell you issues like this. The Hds will be my first combo unit I have ever purchased and I was always under the impression that gps is there to tell you where you are at traveling or not. Hey sorry for some of the missed spelled words, not all of us are experts.

I suggest all you fellows unsatisfied with your Humminbird units to go a buy a Garmin. That way you can whine about the Garmin's sonar abilities. I have a Garmin combo, and a Bird 778c. Let me tell you, the H/B sonar is so far out ahead of Garmin's, I never switch over from GPS to sonar on the Garmin. Humminbird brought us side imaging, then down imaging as a free download. Plus they always seem to be working on downloadable upgrades to improve the performance. If they aren't working on the donut, maybe they feel their engineering is better spent in other ways. I think they are doing a pretty good job for recreational fishermen. Just to add to the post, I use a marker bouy if I want to stay on a spot. Much easier looking at it than looking at an electronics screen. Paint them a dark color and nobody sees them if you are afraid of someone grbbing your spot.

I'm glad you posted that, I've been saying the same thing for a long time and I believe HB made a quantam leap in Sonar when they brought SI to the world, not to mention the dream come true idea of integrating GPS right into that SI screen so we can drop waypoints on what we see, truly amazing.

What else is amazing? HB is highly touted as a CS company yet people have been diligently working on getting this donut addressed since 2007 with no results yet here in 2011. It's also amazing that one more guy out there seems fine with supplementing his premium electronics with other expensive electronics and a marker buoy.

HB, please take note, almost no one in these threads is really pushing Lowrance; I think what almost everyone here wants is for you to correct this one major flaw so we can be fully satisfied HB customers, you still have most of us....

Well, if HB can come over here and tout how great their gps is and all the satellites it receives, surely they can give us a directional arrow to accommodate this so claimed accuracy. EPE = 2 feet, then show us the way at all speeds. Can't drive a donut.

By the way, I do appreciate all opinions, but I always like mine the best.

Really, if it's such as simple fix as most here seem to think, there must be a reason H/B isn't making the correction. It's either not as simple as most folks think, or they think their time is better spent working on new innovations.
