    feelay. There is a new software download 5.? that is supposed to address the shallow water issue.
    Haven't had mine back out since the download though.

    Yeah, I went to my Hb account and didn't see any new updates either. I think the last one was 5.2?? I have that one, still have shallow water depth issues.

    Talked to HB today,new TD to be shipped 1-21-11 they are getting in 400+.Was assured it would fix problem,HOPE SO.

    Seems like when U hear of problem with HB product it always end with HB customer service folks fixing it quickly and politely...........Me thinks they will be getting my business again..

    I had the exact same problem about 4 months ago. I have a buddy that has the same unit so I gave him my head unit to see if he had the same issues on his set up. He didn't, so that told me that the issue was with the transducer. As has been stated, hb customer service was great and sent me another one out w/out any hassle. The shallow water download that is available from humminbird.com will cure the shallow water issues that some on here are reporting.

    Yeah, when through alot of test with my dad's, switching boats and transducers. It was the transducer causing the problem.

    Use the US2 on my terrova for my 788, no problems yet.
