skids I do not see why it wouldn't work. I use to use the humminbird 777 and 798(?) and had lots of trouble with the 777 trying to use it with a minnkota US2 trolling motor, couldn't keep the noise out. and got no relief from humminbird. the other unit I sold to a friend and he is happy with it. I have fished with others who have humminbirds and there screens look a little dull to me, but if your young and have good eyes no problem.

there are lots of post on here about depth finder/ locators and worth reading. give it a good look over, it will help on your decision. good luck
