Something on the left side of the transducer obstructing the beam. Whatever depth the lines are showing, that's how far away the obstruction is from the transducer. Could be the lower unit, another transducer, pitot tube, turbulence off the hull, etc.

I installed a jackplate to stop the motor blocking the signal. Works and looks cool too.

    Keith,

When we see lines on one side of the centerline in the Si Views it usually emans that there is some type of blockage of the Si sonar to that side. Normally this is the lower unit of the motor that is doing this but there could be other causes. Water intake screens, ladders, kicker motors, other transducers and even turbulent water off the left side of the hull can all cause this problem. To check whether it is turbulent water or not try this: set the Si Range to 20 feet so that you can see these lines easier. Shut the motor down and let it drift. If the lines go away than it was turbulent water. If they remain than it is something physically attached to the boat that is doing this. I would try raising the motor to see if the lines go away or not. If they do it was the motor blocking some of the left Si sonar. If the lines remain than it is something else to the left of the Si transducer that is causing it. Trailer the boat and get down and sight from the transducer across to the left side of the transom and see if there is anything sticking out from the transom of the boat as this could be causing these lines.
