    Default HB Inrlink/798 Issues

I have a HB 997 on the console & a 798 on the bow. I have them networked together with the Interlink. I have about 1470 waypoints. Everytime I turn the units on the 798 locks up & says interlink sync in progress (or something like that). Anyway... The darn thing locks up & I have to unplug it.

    Any Suggestions?

The limit is supposed to be 1500 waypoints--you're pretty close. Try bleeding off a 100 waypoints or so and see if that fixes the issue.

I segment my waypoints by lake, loading and unloading when I have to. It's a pain, but I haven't had any problems since I started paying attention to the 1500 limit.

By the way, I know all 3 units are supposed to be able to handle 3000 waypoints; but the interlink, in syncing, can only handle 1500 from each unit and still perform the sync.

    Wiskers,
I would try what Fished-Out suggested first and if that does not work I would contact the Humminbird Customer Resource folks (1-800-633-1468) and see about possibly resetting the Interlink. Of course you should be running the latest software in each unit before doing this as there may be InterLink changes that were made and the InterLink gets updated through the unit software. They may also have some beta software for you to try that will help as well (but I don’t think that it is for this particular issue).
