Default Eagle 642c Don't see much post on anything but Hummingbirds

Would like some help with an Eagle. Have a hard time spotting brush piles. Tried turning fish id off but this made it worse.
Open to any help or ideas.

Actually i turned the sensitivity down when i turned off the fish id because the whole screen turned yellow. I did not try turning it down with the fish id on, but will in the morning if the the wind is not to strong to go out on the lake. NWB has issued lake wind advisory for local lakes tonight and Friday.
    Thanks

Slabmaster, try adjusting your depth finder using the simulator mode and play around with it to set it like you want it. You can't mess up,you can always return to factory preset,
. This should be in your manual, and would keep you out of the winds and safe. Have fun !!!!!! fun

try setting your unit this way and see if it helps.

    ping speed 75
    sensitivity 72-78
    color line 72-74
noise reduction and surface clutter on low
    fish id off.

i used the old white back ground.
