I would be wary about anything on the internet as well “Thomas” (which includes this thread…), especially since some of what I read was on a government web site! You are correct about the triangulation (actually "trilateration" I think) not being "much better"; it is in fact better. Many fishermen want this better resolution though. I’ll have to see if I can get some accuracy numbers of using 4, 8 or 8+ satellites from our GPS guru.

Question: While a GPS Receiver that can track 16 satellites may not have twice the real accuracy of a GPS Receiver that can track only 8 satellites; if it costs close to the same money which would you buy?
