Default 898 Si "woes" as someone else put it.

I finally got my 898SI , the manual is 150 pages long, they have parts and parts in the box and they do not include anything telling what they are all for..ughh,, I think I have figured out how to install the transducer and gps module... I hope i will not need these other parts..lol. anyone else found installation to be a headache.. I have poured over the instructions for the last 2 hours.. so maybe tomorrow I will start the install.. lol.. someone give me hope , is it possible to do it by yourself?
Any hints or tips would be appreciatted

You're hosed. I'll give you $500 for it, just cause I'm a nice guy.

Actually, if you run into trouble, just post your specific question and maybe some pics. Bunch of folks here have installed at least one and some multiples.

Worst part for me was drilling that first hole!

After that, it was just like installing a home theater system...mount some brackets, pull some wires, hook everything up, verify, button everything up, and enjoy.

Yeah, don't overthink it. It is a fairly easy install.

One word of caution if you are going to mount the TD on the transom.

BE SURE THAT YOUR BOAT IS LEVEL IN BOTH DIRECTIONS BEFORE YOU START TO MOUNT THE TRANSDUCER. USE A LEVEL ON THE MOUNTING BRACKET AFTER YOU HAVE LEVELED THE BOAT.

Hope you learn from my mistake!!
