Tinned marine wire is more flexible and resists corrosion better. Regular stranded wire will work just fine. 6 gauge is important tho.

i've got a perko switch comin' and i've been getting differing opinions as to which wire to buy. minn kota says 6ga stranded. is there really a difference between "tinned" wire and regular copper wire, and is stiff stranded w/hard insulation really any different than flexible? i need to run 15' @24v. the price differs greatly!

do it right and get Tinned marine wire , and set back with no worries and fish
I have never used anything but regualr wire. I have put it in several boats and never had any problems. I have heard alot more complaints with regular wire in Saltwater enviroments.
I just purchased cable for my tm. I ordered premade with connectors at a very good price. Fast shipping too. This is marine tinned cable.

Wonder what he "reported"?
I reported the link for the mods to determine if the poster was attempting to promote his own web site. Since they didn't do anything, I assume it's legit and just a suggestion. 1st post links are about 99.999% spam, but this looks like the .0001% exception.
