Default 997 and map refresh rate

got a question. I notice with my 997 that when I'm running the lake at max speed, which is about 27mph,that when Im zoomed in a bit that as I'm going the top part of my map gets lost. Like someone took an eraser and wiped the top part of the screen down about an inch or two. It does come back. My track lines do not disappear nor does the so called maps that are preloaded, but my hot maps do. My 797 never did that.If I zoom out it does not happen.Only if I'm zoomed in.
Is this just the refresh rate trying to keep up? Sort of annoying

Processor speed is probably the culprit. Mine 997 does this and so does my Garmin big screen. Lots of pixels have to be painted in such a short time on the larger screens while zoomed in. The processor is just not fast enough to process all the details in real time, thus causing the lag.

My handheld Garmin doesn't have the problem as it has ample time to process the pixels.

If you really want to see the 997 get slow try zooming in when you have a Hot Maps Platinum high-definition lake with the 1 foot contour chip in your 997.:D:D Now tht's slooooowww............
