New upload for 997 troubles.

I uploaded the new updates for my 997. Minor porblems, but I took it fishing this morning on Lake Monroe for the slabfest. Was not as crisp as I saw on the posts from those who were testing. I also lost my view of my Navionics maps. When I scanned the views that are available, no cartography.

Am I in trouble if I try to reload this update or am I missing something in the menu that I need to do?

Anybody else having this problem? Purchased the new south Navionics Premium.

This latest update automatically resets 997 to factory defaults after it uploads the update. Last thing I would do without HB's OK is to redo the update--Really did you check your setting after the update we had to reset the mapping stetting on a friends 997 as it would not read his new lakemaster,(nor my navionics card) actually it would only read his NVB had to change map setting to auto, there is also a navionics setting there & one other I believe. betcha my 2 cents that's it:D Good Fishing Of the three updates I did for friends that nite that map thing was the only burp!!!, so that's 4 updates so far so good all 997......get lucky sometimes:D:D:D

To chuckauten, just wondering how it worked out? if U got your maps OK, I kinda watch all I can pertaining to 997's- not trying to be nosy

Sent Joby a PM. My main menu does not have the SI tab or the map tab. Looked everywhere, could not find how to turn on. Will keep you posted. I'll probally hear from him tomorrow. I hope others did not lose their tabs when they did the update.

You need to turn on the advanced menus, I think it's under settings.

I have uploaded software 1000's of times and i have never seen this one. They are right the new software restores defaults before and after automatically. This will effect your setting. Just for the sake of it I would Restore the defaults one last time. IF that does not fix it you may have to send it in. Never seen one loose the SI or the Map tab or any tabs.

This happen to me on the last upgrade. All I had to do was go to the settings or setup menu then set the display menus to the advanced setting. I going from recall here and my recall ain't that good no more

but I'm sure the problem is the same.

What we need is a copy of the new menu. Just like I was reading on side site somebody wrote in about re-doing their update cause they don't have a down image view--very simple-- it has to be turned on-its now on menu turn on/off down image view. I think I will call customer service and ask them for a copy of menu-would think they all have them to help answer our questions or well I can't see how they could operate without one --just me

& yes you have to go to advanced setting as FW above states. Oh also I had to turn pictures as in pictures when marking waypoint back on Factory default shuts this off.

if you formatt your card and check and see if you restore you unit to factory defaults every thing should work ok this is my fith upload without any trouble, knock on wood

I have seen that I get some random lock ups on the unit and some random menu changes like someone is pressing the button very fast. It then clears and I can switch screens.
When I went to transducer select and pressed it(just looking around) thats when I had a screen lock up. Guess I need to leave it on Hi def sidescan. Oh yea,,,When the screen locked up it switched to a GPS screen and stayed locked up there,,until it cleared. Had to do a shutdown to get out of it. Almost had to pull the power plug.
I do think there are some minor problems with the upgrade.
Anyone else feel this way??
Plan on taking it out today for some test runs.Guess I need to take a pad and pencil and write down what problems pop up
