I have uploaded software 1000's of times and i have never seen this one. They are right the new software restores defaults before and after automatically. This will effect your setting. Just for the sake of it I would Restore the defaults one last time. IF that does not fix it you may have to send it in. Never seen one loose the SI or the Map tab or any tabs.
This happen to me on the last upgrade. All I had to do was go to the settings or setup menu then set the display menus to the advanced setting. I going from recall here and my recall ain't that good no more but I'm sure the problem is the same.
