I would appreciate any feedback on the new software release. If anyone has any question please feel free to contact me at [email protected] .

Note: Make sure you restore your Factory Defaults before and after you update the software.
Good stuff and THANKS! I guess we 997 users have to wait until January though. Oh well, it isn't that far away!:D

When I did the last update I failed to restore the factory defaults prior to updating, what if anything bad can happen and how does one "fix" anything that may have gotten out of whack?

You would have known if you would have had any problems. By restoring factory defaults before and after loading software will be your best bet.

Default 4.700 software for 797 - not yet

    FalconSmitty,
This is a different update than the Down Imaging software. This adds some other features and it is not available yet for the 797 units (and I’m not sure when they will have it ready) but I expect that the 4.700 software will be available for the 797 way before January. There are lots of units that this software will be released for and in the meantime the Engineers still have to get all of the new 2010 model units ready too, so they are quite busy. So it could be weeks before the 4.700 software is ready for all of the units including your 797 unit.

Just when all this comes out I am thinking I may need to sell mine.
It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
