Turn the battery alarm off. It is useless.

The voltage readout should be in the readout options. It could display battery voltage as an option. Make sense to me. I hate buzzards or buzzers?

Mine is set at 11 and comes on when turned on, I have been just hitting exit because battery gauge shows 12+ volts. I will turn off also.

Depending on what model you have, pressing the menu button twice will bring up the main menu on a Humminbird. Select Alarms, Low Voltage Alarm.

This post was meant to be a hint to HB. It don't work this way at present.

I don’t understand your hint CP. Battery voltage is already an optional readout that can be selected by the user. The battery alarm is there to help alert the user to a possible wiring or low battery condition. If you don’t want it on, than it can be turned off.

Like Greg said.. BTW I like the voltage readouts on both my HB's (525 & 717). And yes I turned the low voltage alarms off.

I knew I would get your attention. I didn't hint it right.:o

My hint is when I turn all readouts off, there is a white space along the left side of the SI view and some views still show readouts. Be nice if this was a full screen view (like sonar view) without the white blank margin. I believe the reading on the other screen views are overlays, so why not SI screen? Maybe it is my unit.

Also it would be nice if readouts were view selectable instead of system wide selectable. I ain't gripping, just hintin'.

My 997 unit still shuts down when I crank the big motor. MY battery cca and mca are twice the Yamaha recommended minimum. New battery and it has been load tested. ??????????????
I might put a BFC power filter near the head unit and see if that helps.

I got a real volt meter (analog) built in.

I don't know for sure where you fellers and fellerettes power your units from. But, if it is the crank battery and you read below 11v (except starting), you in deep dodo anyway.

My wife will tell you that I don’t take hints very well… :rolleyes:

Understand what you are saying. I know that these have been suggested in the past. I always thought the readouts should be at the bottom of the Si Views and the right side of the 2D sonar Views so they cover or take up the area where all the oldest information is shown. I also like being able to select what I want displayed on each View individually by View and not all Views with the same information. I’m hoping that with the 2010 units that they will loosen up a little and allow the users a little more flexibility in being able to customize their units to their own liking.
