    Default Screen on 797

Was fishing this morning and the screen just WENT OUT!!!
Tried putting it back on the mount and same thing. Can't see any of the screens as they are white. You can see the "LOADING" screen but nothing after that. Unit is on 1.5 yrs old. I could see if it was 3-4 years but I haven't gotten my money back in use yet. Humminbird will be hearing from an ANGRY customer first thing tomorrow morning.

Tom, you got any suggestions on what it might be???

    It might be a Humminbird.....

How hot was it on the water? These any/all units can be heat sensitive. Did you do what I mentioned?

I just tried that CP and i think it is the power head. I unhooked the transducer and external GPS and it is still doing it. It was pretty warm this morning but another guy right next to me with a 788ci ran his with no trouble. This unit is less than 2 years old.

I can see "LOADING" when i power the unit up but can't make out anything after that... I have a 717 that i ran in the heat of the morning after it quit.  I'm sure I'll be "stuck" with it b/c the warranty has ran out or doesn't cover whatever is wrong with it!!!

Well, sure sounds like head unit. Like i said, when it ain't nothing but power and ground, this isolation troubleshooting. Simple technique.

Hate it for you. I believe HB has a flat rate for repair. Bend over.

Even with the flat fee, it'll still be a lot cheaper then a new unit.
