Been toying around with ideas to get a better core shots and came up with this. I think I like it but now gotta wait and see if the color bleeds.

your plastic baits look fine I don't know what you're using for a core shot but if that's what I think it is it may bleed on you you may try the following if you have a dividing plate you could shoot half and then take a little bit of your colors that you use in your plastic be careful just put a little bit on a toothpick input it on the head of the bait put your mold back together and shoot you will have a core shot but again be very careful doing this if you get too much you will have the whole thing in the middle that color.
