you forgot to mention you may want to spray a little Pam on the nails do not go overboard it will help when you pull them off.
How would you do a two color using this method?

Ship is your wind chimes a little big around unless you are after a big bait, the chimes need to be a little smaller than what you want it to finish. Bob I tried that before but the bait that I made even double dip would tear easy and that,s why I went with adding a piece of solid grub and when I could find a harder piece of grub the better I like it,like your set up

The wind chimes were a little big (3/16" diameter.) I cannot wait to get the correct rods from you Bob. Anyway I played with the concept today and this is what I came up with Genec and Snake....How about it? Here is ...."The Outlaw!" One set is Lime Chartreuse. The other set I dipped the head in Flo Orange. Still fooling around with the technique.

Genec, did you put the piece of solid grub on before dipping? Might have to see how I could even think of attaching it to a wind chime aluminum rod. Did you have any safety concerns attaching the piece of metal for the solid grub on a fishing rod blank? Wouldn't the rod blank melt in the hot plastic or worse yet contaminate the plastic?

there are no safety issues using the rod because you are getting it just make sure you don't put it in the microwave no I did not add any grub to the end of the I simply put the head and back into the plastic it will feel up full of plastic let it cool the plastic is not hot enough Mike to do anything to the rod it doesn't even get hot because it cools soon as it touches the metal I believe it using fishing poles I wouldn't do because it would heat up the glass don't think it would hurt it but I wouldn't do it it's up to the individual on what you want to use I believe the gentlemen which is showing how he does it if he did not have any problems with this method I would have nothing to worry about we're just showing a different way to him on how to make slab slayers I do have two molds to make them with I do not like the molds though they come out nice I just like to mess around I think you come up with new ways of making things I have been doing this method for a few months.

Right on Bob ,it is safe out of micro, Ship I only put the extra piece to make a solid grub,I put the piece of grub on rod then dip and lean cup for plastic to run up rod on angel so there is no cutting with sissors to make angel then if I want 2 colors I just dip 1/2 straight in cup. Ship as much as you use a cork you should try the bait I made with 2 tails coming out the side ,when you pull and stop that bait move better than any bait I have ever tested,

I will try Bob's technique of semi filling the cur by redipping into the plastic. I will use tongs or something. Do not want my fingers anywhere near hot plastic. Glove on left hand to hold the pyrex cup and tongs or forceps on the right hand to hold the tail for dipping. I still will leave a small pocket to stuff it with crappie nibbles. Gonna try and find some 6 inch nails today Bob. Will hacksaw the head off and try to hammer it down like you did. I used duct tape to attach a small level to my drill so I can drill perpendicular holes in the block of wood instead of those leaning ones on my first attempt. No, I do not have a drill press. LOL

They should be fine tuned when my new shirt gets here in about a month. Do you guys mind if I shared your technique and some of your photos in the Fall issue of Crappie World Magazine? I have already sent in an article on c.com, DIY Plastic and Bob's Jigs for the summer issue. The article is entitles "SOFT PLASTIC BAITS." Look for the magazine sometime in June. Of course I would have to mention your names and C.com for giving me the inspiration and ideas. This is a sneak peak of the final design. (Black sleeves, Gold cuffs, Black collar) I will be going with the top design instead of the bottom one. I like the way they did c.com over the left heart. I will be using my white jersey when fishing and talking to folks on the lake. I will use the black one for magazine articles, appearances at BPS and other high profile stuff like Crappie World etc. Comments????? Perhaps I can get my own TV show now. (LMBO)
