I will try Bob's technique of semi filling the cur by redipping into the plastic. I will use tongs or something. Do not want my fingers anywhere near hot plastic. Glove on left hand to hold the pyrex cup and tongs or forceps on the right hand to hold the tail for dipping. I still will leave a small pocket to stuff it with crappie nibbles. Gonna try and find some 6 inch nails today Bob. Will hacksaw the head off and try to hammer it down like you did. I used duct tape to attach a small level to my drill so I can drill perpendicular holes in the block of wood instead of those leaning ones on my first attempt. No, I do not have a drill press. LOL
They should be fine tuned when my new shirt gets here in about a month. Do you guys mind if I shared your technique and some of your photos in the Fall issue of Crappie World Magazine? I have already sent in an article on c.com, DIY Plastic and Bob's Jigs for the summer issue. The article is entitles "SOFT PLASTIC BAITS." Look for the magazine sometime in June. Of course I would have to mention your names and C.com for giving me the inspiration and ideas. This is a sneak peak of the final design. (Black sleeves, Gold cuffs, Black collar) I will be going with the top design instead of the bottom one. I like the way they did c.com over the left heart. I will be using my white jersey when fishing and talking to folks on the lake. I will use the black one for magazine articles, appearances at BPS and other high profile stuff like Crappie World etc. Comments????? Perhaps I can get my own TV show now. (LMBO)![]()
