RonDon I currently only have one crappie mold - Bears crappie dancer if you was going to add another one which one do you recommand?
looks like the smallfry mold
He has a lot of fry's. How is the 2" thumper swim fry?
I dont use the thumper as much but i dont do much cast and retrieve. Most of my fishing is verticle jigging.
1.75" small fry has been my best crappie and bluegill bait....but the 1.75" carrot is darn good too! Both are great on jigs...or drop shot....or on a small safety pin spinner (like a Mr. Twister).
You can rig the carrot flat side up/down or side ward....or at an angle so the darn thing just can't swim straight!!! I used to (not any more!) just rigged it flat side so that it fell slower...
You can also put a piece of tin foil in the middle of the mold and get two halves ...to do laminates....or just use the "half" as a killer leech !!!
Thanks RonDon and DeBehr! Think I will try the 1.75 small fry. What is the biggest bait you would throw for crappie. Sorry for asking such basic questions but only recently got interested in targeting crappie and blue gills. With a down sized rod they are lot more fun to catch.
I love that flo lime chartreuse (Chick on the right in the first photo) Please pm that recipe. When I use the flo lime or green chartreuse I have been doing mine as a semi transparent. Perhaps I will double the number of drops of green chartreuse. That is a hot color when you combine it with bubblegum pink.
