New plastic....
For quite a few years I have fished the Mini Mite bait, but have had issues with them ffor as long as I have used them. No More!
Broken hooks right at the head was one thing that really set me off and if trying to straighten a hook that did manage to bend without breaking, well, that did break it. Then those tail buttons kept getting nipped off by sunfish and some of those fish were micro in size. Lastly was the issue of not being able to purchase just the plastic replacement bodies without buying a whole jig. When Rick Jacobs offered a mold that was very similar to the MM [ and actually called the mold a MM mold] I was all over it, only to get a letter from some Chicago dork attorney saying I could not use the mold because if infringed on his client's [the company that makes the MM] patent and design. Ya right, I found enough differences in the mold's design to negate any crapola from MM and now have begun shooting the little plastic in Rick's mold. And how sweeeeeeeet they are.
Now if you try to buy a plastic from the MM selection of colors, you won't find anything like these.

And as for the stock colors, they are even softer than the MM's but they can be stretched 3 times their length and no snapola. I can hang these on a better quality jighead and one that won't go to pot while simply trying to open the gap or get a kink out.
That MM has been around a long time but they really do need to start being more friendly to the angler purchasing the products. Too late on my end, I'll cook my own and bid tha MM farewell. I had a couple of these fishing in the river behind out home this morning for a while and stuck one so-so crappie and a nice little walleye in about 15 minutes of casting. Rick has come up with a super nice mold here.
