For quite a few years I have fished the Mini Mite bait, but have had issues with them ffor as long as I have used them. No More!
Broken hooks right at the head was one thing that really set me off and if trying to straighten a hook that did manage to bend without breaking, well, that did break it. Then those tail buttons kept getting nipped off by sunfish and some of those fish were micro in size. Lastly was the issue of not being able to purchase just the plastic replacement bodies without buying a whole jig. When Rick Jacobs offered a mold that was very similar to the MM [ and actually called the mold a MM mold] I was all over it, only to get a letter from some Chicago dork attorney saying I could not use the mold because if infringed on his client's [the company that makes the MM] patent and design. Ya right, I found enough differences in the mold's design to negate any crapola from MM and now have begun shooting the little plastic in Rick's mold. And how sweeeeeeeet they are.
Now if you try to buy a plastic from the MM selection of colors, you won't find anything like these.
And as for the stock colors, they are even softer than the MM's but they can be stretched 3 times their length and no snapola. I can hang these on a better quality jighead and one that won't go to pot while simply trying to open the gap or get a kink out.
That MM has been around a long time but they really do need to start being more friendly to the angler purchasing the products. Too late on my end, I'll cook my own and bid tha MM farewell. I had a couple of these fishing in the river behind out home this morning for a while and stuck one so-so crappie and a nice little walleye in about 15 minutes of casting. Rick has come up with a super nice mold here.

I added Junebug/chartreuse tail to the collection today but haven't gotten a picture yet. Then I mixed three batches of chartreuse transparent with a touch of gold hi-lites and some chartreuse glitter and pumped out thirty-six molds of that color just to trim the tails off for doing two-color shoots down the road a ways. Now I have a zip-lock sandwich bag bulging full of the tail inserts.
That clear/sparkle I call bluegill. In your hand it is an amazing sight to behold. I have just a hint of blue hi lites in there and when the sun hits it just right it goes bananas. Using some other baits in basically the same color but without the split tail color for a couple of summers now has proven to be fruitful. I have a few hundred of the solid bluegill shot along with a bunch with the chartreuse tail so I feel water ready.
That pink/white is a trick color too. The pink has red hi lites and a bit of blue glitter in it. Its a catchy color in its own right, its just hard to see the colors in this pic.
Looks great! Just be careful the lawyers can get messy. Your colors look great
In our government-controlled schools we are taught that Lincoln was our greatest president because his war ended slavery and saved the Union. As usual, the other side of the story – the side that reflects poorly on the government – somehow gets lost. – Richard J. Maybury, The Abe Lincoln Hoax
Those are sweet looking tails and must say the colors are nice to. Here where I live in illinois it seem's anything with fleck in it seems to be a best producer.
