    Default Higher production

Got a question for You fellas that sale baits. How many of one type mold do You get when You want to produce a certain bait in a larger production? Say particular mold has 12 cavities. Thanks. CF

I usually get 2 molds if we're going to make a lot of plastic baits most of my molds are 10 cavity or 12 I don't have very many laughs and then it will really aggravate you to pieces if somebody wants to do 300 plastic baits in you only have a four cavity mold.

I think it would be unproductive to buy more than two unless you planned on selling a whole lot of them. Simply because it would take many sales just to cover your expense of buying the molds. That is just my opinion. Trying to make two colors takes a little time anyway unless you have the dual injector and more than two molds would be a headache for me.

I have been using 3 or 4 molds clamped and ready when I pull my plastic off the hotplate, I saw where Basstackle had a 48 cavity stinger mold, went for like $300

You can figure out how many molds you can inject from your " favorite" injector, with a little plastic left over.
Then you can figure how much plastic you need to do say two "shoots" with a little left over. Inject a "set of molds" , demold , top off plastic temp. while clearing injector and inject a second set. Try that, go from there in multiple sets till the money runs out. But; as the gentleman said -- any production beyond what you can sell is of marginal value.

I want to shoot 1pack for baits per injector. Meaning if you sale them per 20 than have enough molds to shoot 20 at a time or per injector. Time is money in this game. I'm no expert but this is what works for me. I work 50-60 hours a week a my real job so I need to make this most baits in the lest amount of time, so it doesn't consume my life and take away from family time

Start out with a couple to see how they are selling. If the bait sells you can add more molds. On baits that are selling I want to have enough molds to make atleast 4 to 5 bags per round. The more time I can save on injection the better. Then comes my least favorite part.... Bagging!
