Clean divider plate off good with alcohol. I shoot one color, then open mold and take out the side I don't want and also break off the runners so I can re use them. The only problem is sometimes a couple of the bait halves will float up when shooting the next color. This causes a swirling affect or even deformed baits. Most of the time it is not a desirable affect. maybe a couple baits will screw up but I don't waste as much plastic with the runners that way. 70% of the time, they come out alright. lessening pressure on the mold when You inject will help keep the first halves in place too. Also don't shoot a color and wait a day or two to shoot the other. The first plastic will have cured and the second half will not bond. shoot one right behind the other and there will be no problems.
Another little tip when You want to open up the mold with the divider plate to remove one side, swab the side that You don't want to stay in with vegetable oil with a Q tip. Does not take much. That side will fall out while desired side stays in. Just think about which side You want to stick and use it on the other side. this works for the divider plate too. just use alcohol to clean when you feel like You need to. I keep a small medicine measuring cup by my stuff with the vegetable oil and some Q tips. It goes a long way. Oil based too so it is not dangerous.
With the double injector, I wonder if You could get the two colors at different temps when You inject if this would keep the colors from mixing as much. At two different densities, I would think this would keep them separated. Just a thought and maybe Snake or Baitman could elaborate more on this. this would be harder to accomplish with a microwave I'm sure but using a digital thermometer might could help.CF

lots of good information when we are using a dual injector we have to keep them very hot if you let one cool off too much the tip of mine will clobber up so I have to keep them pretty hot just about the same temperature in each injector bait man might elaborate more on this far is a digital thermometer it is a must if you are running a pot or trying to keep temperatures even I do not use the dual injector that much I reversed my molds and shoot one half we do use Pam a lot when we are working with the molds in I use alcohol to clean with when we are shooting have to mold using the backside of one the backside is which you want to keep clean you deftly will get a perfect color line we will try to post some pictures of this method it works very well for me also we are shooting molds inputting Pam am one half of the cavities shoot it and pull it apart one side will not stick we pull the body off of the tail and put the molds back together to get your second color this has worked very well and I have no problems we definitely were want to try to Marple are plastic baits this will take a lot of time in experimenting I hope maybe one other guys might say something about this I am very interested in doing this .

I do better with the aluminum foil to do my two color baits. I tried to reverse my mold but I get a lot of flashing that way. For the person wanting to know start up cost if you look back through the posts I did a rough estimate of start up costs and supplies, it will give you a basic idea. jigtwins I think i have the perfect colors sometimes and they look great front to back when they are not on top of one another but then if i do top to bottom it totallly changes the look of the color.
I shoot all my laminates with a twin injecter I got from bass tackle it gives me a perfect split bait all the way through. I do have to get the plastic good and hot it seems the smaller the bait the hotter the plastic needs to be. Usually for a 2 color 1-1/2" grub ill run the plastic around 345-360deg. But with any laminate somtimes you dont get bleeding of the colors but when you lay two colors and two different flakes right against each other they do effect the color of each other, say a white and black it always turns the white a touch grey. jmo
