    David,

    When using hackle or marabou you will want to cut the stem at about 2.25 inches from the tip. That stem in that area should be thin enough to just thread a little in the needle eye. When you pull it through, I try to make the overall length about 2 inches. I will post a photo of some I did today. Body me get on Photobucket so you can see them.

    got a chance to play with it a little.....heres 2 I made so far....I think a head w/out a collar is better....for me any way......

    Same as when tying a jig. Use a jighead without a collar.

    jeepguy, that is the problem I have had in years past trying to make these, I always used a barbed collar and it did not work well. That is why I did not fool with it anymore. They seem to work much better without a barbed collar. You are right about threading with the needle, I just use a big eye needle and then cut the feather or whatever until it is thin enough to put in the eye and then thread it through.

    That is how I do it too. When I attach it to the jig head i will use one drop of superglue.

    well we've been away for a few days guys and I see you guys have been very busy with the plastic baits that I've sent you we are glad that you will enjoy them we are looking forward in ordering more molds for the crappie dancer I do believe that it will be quite successful ship we will be using your picture that you post it on here in our website crappie seeker you are doing a good job just make sure that you glue that body onto the head I'm dying to hear back from you guys if you do use the crappie dancer do fish with this is very important to me we would like to know if it is any better than other plastic baits.
