There was a company years ago I believe who made bass worms that had a pouch on the side that people would put a alka seltzer in. You might be able to try and google that for an idea or help.

If you have a shad mold , I am guessing that they are made out of aluminum ...just do as someone else mentioned....drill a hole in one side of the mold and tap in a aluminum pin or peg to fit the hole in the mold and let the peg stick up the depth that you want the hole in your bait.

G3 I am the one who mentioned that idea, but I do not want to damage a mold that I pay for and then am not able to use. That is why I was talking about having a mold maker produce it because they may have to do some trial and error. They will sell enough to make up any errors. If I mess it up then I am out the money. You were on the right track with that thought though.
ship it would have to be baked into the plastic when the plastic is heated. It also has to be oil based or it wont work and it will explode if it is water based. Some scents can be baked in but it usually takes a lot doing it that way. I am not sure if my anise oil is completely oil or if it is water deluted.

G3, someone who knows a little about stuff like that might could. Those molds are very delicate on the machined surface, if you damage them any it messes up the look of the bait. I am not sure I could do it without causing damage. You are totally right, if I could do it without damaging the mold it would be simple to try, but not sure I have the skill to do it. I am not working right now so I do not really want to risk messing up a mold, but like you said it can be done that way.
I don't blame you, really don't. But me......yep I would have to try it, Lol.![]()

I would think that a lot of modifications could be made to a mold using Dremel tools and then smoothing up and polishing afterwards.
