I have been a repeat customer of certain color combinations in three colors, so they have their advantages on the fish at times. Not the majority of the time, but sometimes. I always want to be prepared for whatever teh calling is lol
I guess that you should keep a majority of baits in your tackle box that you do best with on the average I normally do not carry three color baits but they are in my box for some strange reason I carry around 3000 plastic baits when I go fishing. I do have every color that you could imagine and believe me, there's all kinds of different baits in the boxes I will have to take a picture of what I carry most bass fisherman carry the same type of basket I use a ProSeries type and I carry Plano boxes the big ones in they are chock-full in there's about seven of them in my bag. We put the dividers inside did Plano boxes so there is I don't know how many compartments. But there's a bunch of them have any of you guys out there use pline if so, please give me a report we are interested in the CX X series clear and 4 pound test . We would like to know how it performs fore you we recently bought 50 pound test and 2100 foot spool . This is for making up shrimp flies encasing the views saltwater guys are out there. We have a ton of them . Yes they are available 2 on a car rigged up like you would normally fish for herring . Yeah wearable kind to different junk. I thought about other things with plastic such is jewelry. There's one for you guys to think about. You can make a worm ear rain or your girlfriend.

I am like you snake. I use a carry bag with the plano boxes. I carry lots of baits with me. The only bad part is, most of the time out of all those colors, they may only bite 2 of them. However, sometimes you dont know which two it will be. That is why I carry them all. I have never used pline but I have heard good stuff about it

Snake, metal injector syringes are the way to go and they cost less than 50 bucks through Bear, Jacobs or Lurecraft.
Just remember to use rubberized fishing gloves when handling the syringe for multi pours. The metal gets a might hot.
Easy to clean (pop out the blob left inside) and start again.

A glass candy thermometer works fine and costs a few bucks. I've had mine for five years and it goes to 400 degrees.
Temps over 300 read in about one minute. I keep my plastisol around 300.

Agree. Core shot grubs in two colors work as good as tricolor grubs.

I agree with you. I may carry a lot of plastic baits in jigs but I'm only using one or two out of the whole bunch. I deal direct with the supplier for the US on Pline we plan on buying a giant spool of 4 pound test which is my main poundage for crappie fishing we have done real well with large fish with 4 pound test . Most of the time we were use them lightweight graphite spin cast to do my fishing with I had a custom-built rod built by big daddy they are fantastic rods you get what you pay for. We plan on ordering a couple more they run about 120 blocks. But I tell you the action in them is fantastic you take a half pound crappie you think you have a 10 pound crappie . I wonder why so many people like us carry so many plastic baits when normally we only use one or two out of the batch and usually they are our favorites, but if all else fails then you have to start going through different patterns to find out with they are going to hit I could tell you one thing, I usually know when the fish are not around, usually after can cast if I feel nothing, I know the fish are not in that pool water order weighting towards evening. I do not prefer to fish real early for them early spring. I fish in the early mornings and late afternoons.

we do use metal injectors or main injection into the molds the little plastic syringe is only used to feel that small space on the cavity of the mold I would like to see them come out with a miniature metal syringe . Yes I would imagine that a candy thermometer would work fine you probably would get a truer temperature reading use in a laser I type thermometer is somewhat off a few degrees every time you take it but it will give you the general temperature getting back to the metal syringe they are too big to do the fine work that I want to do . We do not recommend that small syringe for filling the main cavities or shooting your molds it's only meant to be used to fill in the backside of one a year baits in the mold .

yes, they do work. Even a solid color works just fine. If the fishery and or biting we will be working with that dual injector more in the future. We have to get that down to were I am good at it. It's a little tricky if you guys do you say dual injector one trickiest to put those injectors and a toaster oven and heat them up to 350° you have to keep that fine tip hot is soon as you pull them out of the oven. Make sure that you get them filled up and leave them in the plastic into you get ready to pull them out and then you better go like hell . If you have more than three molds to fill they work fine once you get this down and learn how to work them. I think they have a cool look especially with different color combinations . We will be working with some browns and grays and stuff like that in the future. We're what and to imitate different bait fish in the water.

You can use with a little modification a turkey injector. Pain to clean because the parts screw together. Run about 9 bucks.

A turkey injector - now that's an idea!

My goal is to make a plaster 2 part mold of baits that have fine, thin, tails and force inject the plastic using the metal injector I own.

Snake, here a link for a small 2 oz. metal injector. Hand Injectors

As far as colors for crappie and panfish in general, my go-to colors are clear plastic with a bit of pearl powder, black, gold hologram, lime green flakes; light pearl belly/ pumpkin top; light smoke with gold hologram and black flake. They work anytime anywhere. Since I have had recent luck fishing after sunset, I'm thinking of making lures that glow in the dark and for use on dark cloudy days.
