I'm sure your not the only one and glad to hear your helping the fishery there.

It really sounds like the fishery there is proactive and a really great idea. Wouldn't it be great to see all the state agencies have a program like that. What a difference it would make in a few years with more of the age classes surviving to grow to the size of spawning and legal limit.

look at the above picture. That is ALL there is to it. Put in at low water, sandy bank and nothing else for the fish to hold on. 12 stakes, everybody knows that 13 would be unlucky. For all you guys that are thinking about how to get started putting in brush, you don't have to imitate those here, that have evolved past this simple concept. if we could do it here, i would have a 1000 of them. and I do own a stake driver, just in case they change the laws. almost brand new.

At least Arkansas has addressed the issue. But again only allowed in lakes. No rivers??? And only natural materials. That just seems common sense to me. Why introduce something into our waters that will take millions of years to biodegrade?

The Ark. Game & Fish Commission regs posted by LM Barnett only apply to Game & Fish Commission owned lakes, and even then the fisheries biologist for any given district can approve pvc or other nonbiodegradable structures. In private or non-G&F owned public lakes you can put any structure you want. On C of E rivers and lakes I think maybe you technically have to have permission to put in nonbiodegradable structures, but I don't know of any one who ever got in trouble for putting them out. The Corps & G&F do have trouble with any structure which would impede or constitute a danger to navigation.
