Thread: Placing crappie structure.

I've personally contacted conrolling authorities (C of E and Brazos Authorities) for the waters I fish and for placing man mande brush piles neither had a problem with it.

What would your suggestion be to this problem? Perhaps we should all wait on the state to fix this for us! I,ve talked with the "MAN" also he said he has no problem with it so long as it doesn,t endanger other boaters or harms humans (by placeing to shallow).

Yes, most I have talked to have no problem with it either but that can't be a defense in court. I would recomend getting it in writing. Otherwise it's just your word against theirs.
The reason I posted this is that a friend of mine got a littering fine for placing some structure for crappie even after the lake manager told him he could (National forest lake). When going to court he found that only a certain person could give permission.
In the river systems it has to be the corp of engineers. In the National forests it has to be the local wildlife biologist.
That's what he was told.

Congress didn't allocate any funds for the CRAPPIE STIMULUS so we are happy to help Uncle Sam and maybe ourselves as well.

I am one that appreciates your warning because it probably needs to be said.
If I understand some folks correctly from Ohio they can't even put buckeyes in the water.

Maybe I should ask th corp. of engineers before I drop any man made structure for crappie. I didnt see anything against it in my TP&W outdoor annual hunting and fishing reg. book. But that doesnt mean there arent any regulations or restrictions. I dont wanna do anything illegal and chance losing my right to hunt and fish and trap. So again, I say thank you for th thread.

I probably comes down to some game wardens interpretation of the law. It's not clear at all here in Alabama.
I don't think there is a simple answer to this topic.
