If it's just wood I dont see why it would not float. Water gonna be deep enough for boats to clear it?

I have got 3 sections of truss's that are setting on the side of the bank. they are all connected (they where actually used as ramp for a slip and slide) I am wondering that if i pull them out into the water will they float long enough for me to get them to a spot to sink. once in the location i will tie 5 gallon buckets full of concrete to the structure so that it will sink
I know that wood is naturally bouyant and it should float but want to know before i have them pulled out in the middle of the lake.
any help and opinions would be helpfull.

yeah it is only about 6-7 foot tall, i plan on sinking it in about 20' of water or so for a deep water structure to possibly do some summer time night fishing off of. what ya think.

ok i got the truss's sunk this weekend. it floated really good and we could actually stand on it while pulling it to the spot. word to the wise if you ever plan on sinking large wooden structures, you better plan on having about 500+ pounds of weight to drop on it too. that thing would never go down but now its in its home. and had a friend come by with his side scan and WOW it looks like a bridge down there, i sure hope it does as good as i think it will.

it should attract alot of fish but its probably only going to last around 5 or so years due to the fact its wood
Wood structures that are completely dried out are very hard to sink. I'm not saying that they aren't one of the best structures to use, it's just that you better figure at least twice the weight you think it'll take to take it down.
