Thread: I guess I’m gonna have to quit hating on those catfish so bad

I took a forty year break from catfish . My early days were running trotlines on the Tombigbee River , with my dad . It was not about enjoyment as he made it work . My dad had four sons which made 500 hooks legal . Before DDT every mud hole in north Mississippi had crayfish (Dad's #1 bait) .I Was burnt out till last year a Company Christmas party was served catfish . I have been on the Tennessee river at least five times this year . Wifey makes a mean catfish po-boy .

If I hook me a fat young bluecat about 16 to 18 inches long , it typically goes to the house with me ....
channel cats about never , up over 12 inches they ain't edible in my book ....
but boy howdy a baby blue ......mmmmmm yum
